How a fashion brand became an everyday companion
17 years of collaboration. More than one million products manufactured. And a brand experience that reaches far beyond clothing.
Fashion accompanies people throughout their day. A fragrance can make that connection even more personal: it becomes part of how they express themselves, their familiar rituals and special memories. That was the opportunity for a growing German fashion brand when the idea for its first perfume emerged.
A brand to wear. A connection to feel.
It began with a question from the advisory team: could a signature fragrance complement the collection? Thorsten Biehl showed the management team what perfume could bring to the business – and to the relationship between the brand and its customers.
Perfume creates another deeply personal point of contact. Reaching for the bottle in the morning, holding the familiar logo, feeling the fragrance on the skin. Together with the clothing, it creates a coherent sense of identity: This brand feels like me.
A purchase becomes a daily ritual. The brand remains present in its customers’ lives long after they leave the store.
One idea grew into a world of fragrance
Thorsten Biehl led the consultancy and the entire fragrance development process. Working with the design team, he also developed the product presentation. Fragrance, bottle and design were intended to tell the same story as the fashion: unmistakably aligned with the brand and emotionally engaging for its customers.
The first perfume sold exceptionally quickly after launch. A second men’s fragrance followed. Before long, the womenswear brand also had its own fragrance line.
Over around 17 years, that single product grew into an expanding fragrance portfolio, with more than one million products manufactured in total. Further creations reached additional audiences and broadened the brand experience.
A familiar fragrance. A reason to return.
For customers, perfume became another way to express their connection to the brand. For the company, the fragrance line became a lasting source of revenue and contribution margin, supported by many repeat buyers.
Its particular value lies in the combination: clothing defines a visible style, while fragrance adds a personal, emotional dimension. Each application can renew that connection – familiar, natural and close.
A signature fragrance makes a brand part of everyday life beyond the wardrobe. It gives the brand a presence on the skin – and a place in its customers’ personal experience.
